How to recognize toxic plants? / News

Almost 200 interested parties had registered for the Horse & Habitat and Hay to You webinar "Toxic plants in the pasture and in the hay" on June 22, 2023. Many thanks to the participants who were present live and asked such good questions actively! 

Robin talked about ragwort and autumn crocus. He explained how these toxic plants work in hay. And indicated how they can still occur in hay, how to recognize them, and what you can do about it. Robin also shared what Hay to You does to prevent toxic plants from ending up in the hay by, for example, looking at the type of hay and the harvesting area. Finally, Robin also explained why Hay to You chooses to have every batch we deliver tested and why an average analysis is not sufficient. 

Harmke discussed the considerations you need to make if you want to combat and prevent toxic plants in the pasture. Is it even necessary? What do these plants say about the soil and what is the added value for nature? She also talked about ragwort, buttercup, and pigweed in the pasture.
