Benefits of alfalfa hay
Choosing alfalfa hay for your animal? Alfalfa hay naturally has a firm texture and contains protein, vitamins and other nutrients. This can make alfalfa a valuable addition to the daily forage of many animals, alongside meadow hay or grass.
Alfalfa hay is also recognisable by its smell, colour and texture. Because every batch can be different, we believe it’s important that you can clearly see what you’re buying. This helps you make an informed choice for your animal, without making things unnecessarily complicated.
Nutritional values of alfalfa
Alfalfa is rich in nutrients that provide energy and support the body. It is easily digested, provides energy and naturally contains plenty of vitamins and protein, which contribute to growth and development. The carotene it contains is converted into vitamin A in the body, which is important for strong bones and hooves, among other things.
Because of its high nutritional value, alfalfa is particularly suitable as a supplement to hay rather than as the basis of the forage ration. Alfalfa hay can be fed all year round as a supplement to meet your animal’s needs.
Different batches of alfalfa
We usually have several batches of alfalfa in stock, sourced from different countries, including France. Each batch has its own characteristics in terms of composition, colour, smell and texture.
Not sure which alfalfa your animal prefers? With our alfalfa hay sample box, you can first compare different batches by looking at, smelling and feeling them, and letting your animal taste them. This means you don’t have to order a larger quantity straight away and can make your choice with greater confidence.
